No Forced Vaccinations In Schools โ€“ Zim Govt

No forced vaccinations in schools says the Zimbabwean Government. Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has just told Parliament that there is no Government policy that compels school pupils to be vaccinated against their will before they can attend schools whose opening will start next week.

Minister Mutsvangwa said this during a senate question and answer session in Parliament today. She told Senators today that the Government directive to have school pupils between 14 and 17 years to be vaccinated does not make the programme compulsory.

She also lamented the social media reports suggesting that pupils should first be vaccinated before they can attend lessons.

โ€œWith the advent of social media, there is a lot of fake news. That is why we have Cabinet briefings timely for people to validate. There is no Government policy to have children vaccinated before going to school,โ€ said Minister Mutsvangwa.

She also justified the decision for children to be vaccinated, saying that it is a result of a careful scientific study.
