No Vaccination No Entry – Kwekwe Polytechnic College

No vaccination no entry says Kwekwe Polytechnic College to students. Kwekwe Poly Students have expressed shock at the Principal’s announcement that unvaccinated students will be denied entry to return when the college reopens.

Part of the letter to students from the principal read:

Please not that you are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated against Covid-19 before the opening of the polytechnic on the 6th of September 2021. Your vaccination card will be your gate pass into the institution.

Some students pointed out that this is a violation to the Government’s promise that there will be no forced vaccination in schools. This greys out the meaning of forced vaccination as some students are confused on whether the denial of the basic right to education on basis of being unvaccinated doesn’t lead to forced vaccination.

As one student pointed out, "You can’t say vaccination is voluntary when yet you deny me my rights on the basis that I am not vaccinated. I now feel that I am forced to get vaccinated so that I can enjoy my basic rights."

The student also attacked the handling of vaccination both in schools and churches, saying, "The same is happening in churches, government bans children under 14 from attending church because they cannot be vaccinated and yet that same government allows those same under 14 kids to go to school, but they are not vaccinated. Church is attended once a week and school is attended daily. There are more crowds in school than in church, so why ban them from church but allow them to attend school? All that shows you the type of leadership we have."
