Zim Schools to reopen on 30 August and 6 September. In an unexpected move, Zimbabwean government has announced the reopening of schools. Examination classes will re-open on 30 August 2021 and non-examination on 6 September 2021. The announcement also stated that intercity and intracity transportation for learners will be allowed.

However the shocking thing about this twist of events is that the announcement comes barely 24 hours after the extension of the national level 4 lockdown. Many Zimbabweans were quick to point this out on twitter.
So what's the point of the two week lockdown announced yesterday?

Under the level 4 national lockdown intercity travel is banned, so we are still to see how only the students will be allowed intercity travel. The announcement doesn’t clarify whether their guadians will be allowed to travel too or they will be locked down.

Some Zimbabweans complained that the hasty reopening of schools has given them little time to prepare.

However it seems this decision was a direct pressure from the doctors who questioned the need for a lockdown.
